Why Chairs Have Four Legs
... and the answer is– so they will stand up. One of my favorite illustrations of how restless kids are nowadays comes from a time when I was watching some young boys about six or seven. We were watching videos and when the first one was over they all jumped up and knocked over all the chairs in the room before I could put another video in.
Tipping your chair over is probably not going to affect world peace but it is symtomatic of an attitude which says I can be sloppy with little things and later I can do it with the big things too.
